2010-2011 School Year
This is going to be a fantastic school year! It will be different since we will have a combined grades 5-8 home room, but with Mrs. Barts helping out, it will really great! It will be like having 1 1/2 experienced teachers for one class!! This will give us the opportunity to accomplish a lot of things and do many varied activities.
One of our most exciting activities will be our Marine Biology field trip in the spring. We will spend a week on the coast at Fort Deception State Park, just south of Anacortes, WA. We will be utilizing the services of AcademicAdventures to learn many exciting things about marine biology. This will be a trip that all of the students in grades 7-8 will remember for a long time!
Students in grades 5-6 will also have their Outdoor Education time. They will spend a week at Camp MiVoden in Idaho learning about the wonders of God's creation. Coordinated by the education department of the Upper Columbia Conference, Outdoor School is another activity that students in grades 5-6 do not want to miss!
Students will also be challenged and pushed to do their very best in every subject. The use of computers and Internet-based research will keep our studies current and relevant. Opportunities for leadership development and work skills will abound. Our small size will allow for ample positive social and interaction skills to be developed.
The ninth grade program (which is usually a part of our school) will return next year for those wishing to start their high school experience in a small setting.
Come and join our class, and experience the difference that a small class can make in your education experience!
